Winger and Villa feeling invincible

Winger Ashley Young has revealed Villa’s unbeaten start to 2010 has left them feeling invincible and vowed – ‘We expect to win every game.’
The claret and blues host Crystal Palace in tomorrow’s FA Cup fifth-round replay before a mouthwatering Carling Cup final against Manchester United on Sunday which offers them a shot at major silverware for the first time in 14 years.
Last weekend’s 5-2 thrashing of Burnley ensured Martin O’Neill’s men remain unbeaten in their 11 games so far this year and Young admits confidence is currently sky high in the camp.
He said: “I think the run we’ve been on, we go into every game thinking we are going to win it. With the cup runs and the league form everyone is pushing in the right direction.
“When you look at the display on Sunday, especially in the second-half, we are definitely looking for a good push from now until the end of the season in the league and cups.
“Of course, it is always nice to get wins under your belt, whether it is in the Premier League or not. It was an important game. We knew it was going to be tough but the way we went about our job in the second-half shows just how much confidence we are playing with at present.
“It sets us up for Wednesday’s game.”
Young insists Sunday’s crunch clash will not distract Villa from the task in hand when they take on the Eagles, who held them to a 2-2 draw in the first meeting at Selhurst Park last week.
He said: “We are concentrating on Wednesday’s game. We will go into that full of confidence, try and get through and then go on from there and think about Sunday.
“It was a proper cup game down there. It wasn’t going to be easy. We got the replay and I’ve every confidence we will go into Wednesday’s game looking to win the game.
“Of course it is. We did have a few draws and you want to turn them into wins.”
Villa hope Gabby Agbonlahor will be fit after aggravating a calf problem against Burnley, while Luke Young, Fabian Delph, Steve Sidwell and John Carew are all pushing for starts as O’Neill contemplates whether to rest some of his stars.
