Delph and Delf assured for future

Villa boss Martin O’Neill has hinted young starlets Fabian Delph and Nathan Delfouneso will both have major roles to play in his team next season.
The duo have had to mainly watch from the sidelines this season as the established order have steered the club to the Carling Cup final, a possible FA Cup quarter-final and seventh place in the Premier League.
Delph was a £6million summer buy from League One Leeds but has made just seven starts, while academy product Delfouneso has only been in the starting line-up for two FA Cup games after making his debut last season.
But O’Neill has assured the young duo, Delfouneso is 18 while Delph is 20, that their time will come in a claret and blue shirt.
The manager said: “Fabian’s joined a team sitting sixth or seventh in the league, hovering around the Champions League spot. He hasn’t just come into a side that is trying to stay in the Premier League – that’s the point.
“Delph and for that matter, Nathan Delfouneso, have got wonderful ability. I expect those two boys to be really big players for us next season.”
