On-loan Villa man axed by Blackpool
Tuesday 9th February 2010, 9:01AM GMT.
On-loan Villa midfielder Barry Bannan has been banned from the Blackpool squad to face Sheffield Wednesday after being spotted dancing in a local nightclub.
The 20-year-old, former Walsall striker Ishmel Demontagnac and Neil Eardley were seen out just hours after Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Leicester at Bloomfield Road.
Bannan, who had to be replaced 44 minutes into the match, will now be omitted from tonight’s game by furious Blackpool manager Ian Holloway.
He said: “I’m disappointed – we’ll have a party once we’ve got 52 points. If they think that’s appropriate, then they’re messing with the wrong man.
“Bannan’s probably broken his toe but it was apparently good enough to go out dancing on a Saturday night. How can you be injured and be dancing?”
