16:55: On the whole it’s has been a good day for all five of our teams in the region this afternoon, as all managed to avoid defeat and pick up something from their games.

Wolves escaped from the KC Stadium with a point after twice coming from behind to grab a 2-2 draw at Hull, while Albion closed the gap on second-placed Nottingham Forest to two points with an impressive 3-1 win against Sheffield United at the Hawthorns.

Villa also got the result they were looking for at what has been a bogey ground in the past at Craven Cottage, two goals from Gabby Agbonlahor just before half-time enough to see off Fulham.

Birmingham managed to avoid defeat and the suggestion the party is over at St Andrew’s with Liam Ridgewell’s late equaliser against Tottenham, who had taken the lead through Jermain Defoe’s goal.

Walsall picked up a point on the road in League One with a goalless draw against Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium.

16:50: Full-time around the grounds across the country.

16:48: Maybe Birmingham have not lost their form after all, Cameron Jerome header back across goal from James McFadden’s dinking cross finding defender Liam Ridgewell arriving to sweep in the equaliser against Tottenham.

16:43: Deadlock is finally broken at the DW Stadium and Wigan are not best pleased, it’s that man Tim Cahill with the finish that puts Everton ahead.

16:28: A massive slice of luck for Liverpool puts them 2-0 ahead against Bolton at Anfield, Charles Insua’s effort from 25-yards was going wide until it took a massive deflection from Kevin Davies to take it goalwards.

16:26: It’s not looking good for Birmingham again as they fall behind to Tottenham at St Andrew’s, Jermain Defoe with the strike.

16:25: Wolves equalise for the second time at Hull and what a time for Matt Jarvis to score his first-ever Premier League goal, the winger getting away from the defence and unleashing a drive that makes it 2-2.

16:19: Former Wolves defender Neill Collins is experiencing hero status at the moment, the sub has only been on the pitch for five minutes but has got the opening goal against Ipswich.

16:07: Ronald Zubar has dropped Wolves right back in it at Hull as he gives away a penalty with the scores level with a needless push on Jozy Altidore, with Wolves target Stephen Hunt burying the spot-kick to make it 2-1 the Tigers.

16:06: Albion break Sheffield United’s heart by almost immediately restoring their two-goal lead over Sheffield United, Jerome Thomas’ shot taking a deflection off Chris Morgan to make it 3-1.

16:05: Sheffield United back in it against Albion at the Hawthorns and again a goal from the penalty spot – Youssouf Mulumbu’s rash challenge on Stephen Quinn in the box leads to Darius Henderson burying the spot-kick.

16:04: Wolves are thrown a lifeline at the KC Stadium and Hull have literally handed them the equaliser – Stephen Hunt’s back-heel leads to Ronald Zubar’s hopeful cross being looped by Anthony Gardner into his own net.

16:00: Second-half around the grounds across the country.

15:50: Half-time around the grounds across the country.

15:44: Villa look to be banishing their demons on the bogey ground of Craven Cottage now and it’s that man Gabby Agbonlahor again, with the twist and the finish to match that puts the claret and blues 2-0 up.

15:40: Villa seize the initiative at Craven Cottage in a timely goal just before half-time, Gabby Agbonlahor getting ahead of Fulham defender Chris Smalling to head the claret and blues into the lead.

15:37 : Finally another goal elsewhere in the Premier League as a nervous Liverpool get up and running against Bolton at Anfield, Charles Insua with a hand in the goal and Dirk Kuyt with the finish.

15:30: Albion are in a commanding position now as they go 2-0 up against Sheffield United at the Hawthorns, an intricate passing move finding Roman Bednar arriving in the area to calmly side-foot home.

15:19: Better news for Albion who go ahead of Sheffield United at the Hawthorns and, as has been the case more than once, it’s Graham Dorrans with the goal from the penalty spot, after Nick Montgomery handled in the area.

15:11: Bad news for Wolves in the early stages of their relegation rivals Hull at the KC Stadium as they fall behind, Jan Vennegor of Hesselink with the strike that finds the bet from 20-yards against the run of play.

15:00: Kick-off around the grounds across the country.

14:45: It’s good news for Albion in the early kick-off as the East Midlands derby sees Derby beat Nottingham Forest at Pride Park through Rob Hulse’s late goal, meaning the third-placed Baggies can close the gap on second to two points with a win.

14:30: It’s all going on this afternoon as all five of our teams in the region are in league action in the afforded rarity of a traditional Saturday 3pm kick-off.

Leading the way are Wolves in a possible relegation ‘six pointer’ against survival rivals Hull City all the way up at the KC Stadium, in a match Mick McCarthy’s men dare not lose after failing to win their last four league games.

Albion face in-form Sheffield United at the Hawthorns in another battle of the expected promotion contenders against the sixth-placed Blades, and the Baggies have the incentive of closing the gap on Nottingham Forest in second place.

Villa face a tough trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage, which hasn’t always been the happiest of grounds for the claret and blues down the years, with the Carling Cup finalists looking to get back on track in the Premier League after two goalless draws.

Birmingham aim to bounce back from the end of their 15-game unbeaten run with the visit Tottenham at St Andrew’s, aiming to prove that their recent heroics were not just a flash in the pan.

Walsall go to struggling Gillingham in League One fresh from their reverse against promotion heavyweights Norwich, aiming to put the Gills to the cosh.

Yet another negative team selection. Just cannot see where a goal is coming from ever again at this rate. Why Oh Why stick with Foley in midfield, get Milijas on please, at least he has some idea about getting forward. Doyle has no chance up front on his own, just pleased he hasn’t put in for a transfer, YET!! Looking more than dodgy again but can still can hope as I sit here with everything crossed. Come on Morgan don’t sit on the fence, act positively for once and get us a new manager and clipboard carrier.

Same old story losing at halftime 8 shots at goal none on target says it all really goals win games and we are not capable of doing that unless our strikers hit a purple patch very soon then its season over.If we lose today MM should be a very worried man.

    Its simple
we buy cheap we get cheap quality!
no ambition from the club = Fizzy pop league and wen we have square peg mick for round holes then that is a lethal cocktail for our beloved club!!!
Right back on the wing, WAT is the man doing.
    totally inept and useless MICK.

Only Muppet Mick would go to Hull (a must win game) with a 4-5-1 formation! We cant score very well with 2 strikers on never mind one.
65 mins gone 2-1 down and he still cant see we need to change it.

Just watched the match, 1st half was what i expected with Hull being the home side.

Second half big improvment, unlucky not to take all 3 point with a neat training ground freekick.

Hunt looked class ! Finderz crossed.

the 2 loan signing look usefull ! just wish mick would of put em on earlier and went for it.

All in all GOOD RESULT ! NO COMPLIANTS
