Guedioura tipped for long-term deal

Adlene Guedioura will definitely prove his worth and earn his three-year contract at Wolves – according to boss Mick McCarthy.

The 24-year-old tough-tackling midfielder arrived on loan this week to join RSC Charleroi team-mate Geoffrey Mujangi Bia as the two new arrivals at Molineux.

Six-foot Frenchman Guedioura has been promised a long-term deal if he impresses and McCarthy’s initial impressions are all positive.

“From what I see so far, I don’t think there will be any doubt I want to keep him,” said the boss.

“He was only on the pitch for two or three minutes against Liverpool but he won a tackle and put in a great header out from a corner.

“There are a few things, but it will be down to him and me – I’ll have to decide.”

Guedioura and Mujangi Bia, who came on as a late substitute in the FA Cup draw against Crystal Palace, add to the competition in central midfield and on the flanks respectively for the survival push.

And McCarthy believes the pair’s arrival can only have a positive impact on the rest of the squad.

“It should have a great effect on them because if anyone worries I’m looking at a player in his position, and he plays badly, I don’t want him around,” he said.

“If he sees reports I’m looking at someone in his position, and thinks ‘he isn’t getting my slot in the team and I’m going to work twice as hard’, then great.

“I was told a long time ago a little bit of insecurity makes you work harder. Let’s hope it works.”

Quite correct..Its well known that a little insecurity often makes one work harder, but for gods sake, not in the hands of McCarthy, the single, worst de-motivator in the Premier division.

Is it possible for whoever wrote this article can ask Mick McCarthy to tell us when he signs someone like this or Zubar, why he is playing Kevin Foley out of position. I am sure a great number of fans would like to know. He was candid why he lost his rag the other day over pulling the game up,it would be nice if he shared things like this with us.

Problem is Mick how do the players know what their position is as you constantly move them around so that your favourites are given a game.

no3. Zubar is better than Foley (and Stearman), who is playing out of position as apparently we have no one else to play right side. I would sooner see one of the kids who play right side given a chance than keep sticking Foley in right side, the kid is clueless, not his fault player of the season last year, but not a premiership class.

Reason we cant sign anybody…we play rubbish football and not many top players want to play for MM..Fact. Get rid of him and get somebody in that top players want to play for…Mark Hughes.

its long overdue. We seems to be playing the same team out of positions for a few. Foley to be exact.

Yes get foley back to RB and get Bia and Adlene in to make the formation more exciting. Rest Henry if you must.
