Albion face weekend wait over Moses

Albion face an anxious weekend as they wait to learn whether they will win the race to sign sought-after teenager Victor Moses.
The Baggies completed another piece of transfer window business last night when full-back Paul Robinson completed a £1.5m permanent move to Bolton five months sooner than expected.
But that development will have no bearing on their hopes of landing Moses, which remain alive but firmly in the balance with rumours increasing of interest from Premier League clubs.
And the contest for the 19-year-old’s signature looks set to go down to Monday – the final day of the window – with Crystal Palace administrators determined to get the best possible price.
The Baggies, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest remained the only clubs to have tabled bids this morning but those close to the deal were reporting growing speculation about top-flight interest.
Stoke, West Ham and Fulham are the latest clubs to be linked while Manchester City are also said to be keeping tabs on developments and a bid from the Premier League could give a different complexion to the saga.
However, Albion officials remain optimistic they could compete with their Championship promotion rivals should the race for Moses remain a three-way contest.
Officials at Newcastle were making confident noises today but counter-rumours claimed the distance from Tyneside to Moses’ adoptive family home in London could count against the Magpies.
As negotiations continued over Moses, the Baggies were still talking to Holland international Andwele Slory over his proposed loan move.
The clubs have reached an agreement on a loan until the end of the season but a deal with the player is not certain to be agreed.
Robinson, meanwhile, has turned his loan move at the Reebok Stadium into a permanent deal that could eventually net the Baggies as much as £2m with add-on clauses.
However, the unexpected twist has not affected Albion’s budget with payments still likely to be staggered as originally proposed.
A permanent move was already locked in to the loan agreement but the Trotters requested last night’s move to free up one of their two permitted long-term domestic loan spots for Jack Willshire, who joined them from Arsenal.
Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton is unlikely to join Albion despite reports last night.
