Albion would be ‘perfect for Moses’

Victor Moses’ closest advisor today claimed Albion would be a perfect club for the teenager as Newcastle joined the race for his services.

The Baggies, who have already agreed a deal with Feyenoord to sign Holland international Andwele Slory, are locked in a three-way fight for The Crystal Palace forward with their two closest Championship promotion rivals.

Albion, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have all lodged verbal bids of around £1.5m but others could yet join the race with the Eagles holding out for a £2m fee.

And agent Tony Finnigan is hoping Albion will step up their bid after revealing he would be delighted to see his client move to The Hawthorns.

Finnigan said: “West Brom are a club who are interested in Victor and I am hoping to speak to the chairman to find out where we go.

“I have always thought that West Brom is the kind of club where this kid should be.

“They play good football – the right kind of football for Victor – and every game is a cup final, whether it’s chasing promotion or fighting against relegation.

“I know personally, as an ex-player, what The Hawthorns is like when it’s full and I have dealt with different managers over the years and know the club.

“It’s exactly the kind of place a 19-year-old should try to go for his career.”

Several Premier League clubs have also expressed an interest in the Nigeria-born forward with Stoke the latest to make contact.

But the Championship’s top three are the only sides so far to place formal offers with the clock ticking down to the closure of the transfer window on Monday.

However, Finnigan reckons the saga is likely to drag on until the final day of business as Palace’s administrators wait for the highest possible bid. They are said to want in excess of £2m.

Albion are keen to recruit a wide player before the window closes and have already agreed a loan deal with Feyenoord for Slory, although negotiations with the player still have some way to go.

The 27-year-old right winger won two full caps for the Netherlands in 2007 and could move to The Hawthorns for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent deal.

Victor Moses will never be in the blue and white stripes, Newcastle will snap him up as they have more money and are a bigger club.

I would love him at The Hawthornes he is a class player and still only 19. But players like him go to the big clubs. Notts Forest have no chance also.

Think we will beat Sheff Utd Saturday 3-1 come on Baggies!

So sorry about the spelling mistake The Hawthorns I put an e in so sorry. But Newcastle are bigger than us, so why would he come here when he could go there?

Yes im a season ticket holder in the east stand. But fed up of being hopfull of top players coming to the club then Birmingham get there first or some other team.

We should forget about the signing because its never going to happen.

This kid is easily worth 3million and for the risk of missing out on him i would push the boat out now and do it, rather than wait and be beaten to the punch.

Dont worry, as it stands we are firm firm favourites to get him. Its in our hands.

No Prem club have come for him as of yet.

Just how many midfield players are we looking to sign, maybe another decent forward would be a more sensible avenue to follow or are we planing to play 1-8-1 if and when we ever return to the promised land

This is such a low risk deal. Meet the asking price and get it done JP And DA. But dont go in with a loan bid – Palace need the money now and any loan bid will always be secondary to a firm cash offer in their circumstances. Whatever the outcome of this deal I’d like to see a proven scorer come in, and Luke Moore offloaded.

Maybe thats the deal to clinch it, Moses in, Moore out in return.

I think he would be a good catch for us but with no strikers going out on loan we will be over provided in that department, especially as we play 4-5-1 a fair bit.

I would like to get in another decent centre half too before the window closes, even a loan deal for someone with experience as back up for Olsson and Tamas.

Are we putting a lot of pressure on this lads shoulders? is he this good? If he was a Laurie Cunningham then i would have no hesitation about him. Then again he might be what we need. But please don’t build him up too much, only to knock him down if he doesn’t perform straight away.It would be nice for him to be at the Hawthorns but ther are a host of clubs waiting in wings for deadline day who will come at the last minute with a massive offer and big wages, bye bye WBA.I hope i’m wrong.

Robbo’s loan to Bolton has just been made permanent, does this mean we will be putting that little extra fundage to try to get Moses. I really really hope this is the case as the lad looks a class act.

Crystal Palace want the money no doubt, however the attraction of him coming to Albion is he would play regular football. Go to one of the Prem teams and he will sit and watch, wonder what he would like to do. As regards Newcastle who would want to join those loan of thugs. JP do your bit
