17:00: It’s gone relatively well for our clubs in the region as all four involved will be in the hat tomorrow for the fifth round draw, although Wolves will need a replay but are just pleased not to be out after a late equaliser against Crystal Palace.

Albion swept aside a much-changed Newcastle in the end after running out 4-2 winners at the Hawthorns, while Villa suffered a few nervy moments but still went through against League One Brighton.

There’s just no stopping Birmingham, as the in-form side overcame Everton in a tricky tie at Goodison Park.

16:55: Full-time around the grounds across the country.

16:51: Albion are breached but it’s too little, too late for Newcastle as the Baggies are going through to the fith round of the FA Cup, despite Andy Carroll pulling it back to 2-2 with his second goal of the game.

16:50: It’s a first for Wayne Rooney as the Manchester United striker gets four goals in a Premier League game for the first time in his career, and there has been no reply from sorry Hull at Old Trafford.

16:48: Wolves have saved themselves at Molineux and Ronald Zubar has picked a good time to score his first goal for the club, and what a volley to make it 2-2 against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

16:47: Owen Coyle looks to have wrapped up his first win as Bolton boss now, the much-malinged club-record signing Johan Elmander with the goal that makes it 2-0 against Championship club Sheffield United.

16:47: It’s going to be a tense few minutes for Villa against League One Brighton now and to top it all a former Birmingham striker has got the goal that pulls it back to 3-2, Nicky Forster silencing the home crowd with his goal.

16:45: Manchester United will be top of the pops tonight, after Wayne Rooney completes his hat-trick without a reply from Hull at Old Trafford to make it 19 goals for the season.

16:43: Wigan have drawn level from two goals down in the FA Cup tie at League Two Notts County, Ben Watson with the equaliser at Meadow Lane.

16:42: Manchester United are heading to the top of the Premier League tonight, Wayne Rooney has got his second goal of the game to make it 2-0 against Hull at Old Trafford.

16:0: The dream appears to be over for Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup, former Albion midfielder Zoltan Gera with the goal that makes it 3-1 to Premier League Fulham.

16:36: Albion have booked their safe passage into the fifth round of the cup now, Jerome Thomas with the tap-in that makes it 4-1 against Newcastle.

16:26: Controversy at the Hawthorns as a penalty call involving Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi goes against the visitors, as Albion break and get a spot-kick of their own, with Graham Dorrans getting his second goal of the game.

16:23: It’s been a topsy turvy day at troubled Portsmouth but finally the Pompey fans have got something to cheer about, John Utaka with his second goal of the game as the team come from behind to lead Sunderland.

16:17: Newcastle are going to make it a tough second-half for Albion now, Andy Carroll has pulled a goal back but it’s still 2-1 to the Baggies.

16:16: Villa look to have done enough to book their place in the fifth round now, the sparingly used Fabian Delph with the goal that has them 3-1 up against League One Brighton.

16:09: Birmingham are not into the fifth round just yet against Everton at Goodison Park, Leon Osman has pulled a goal back but it’s still 2-1 to Blues.

16:07: The reality of what could happen has got through to Premier League team Wigan but they still trail League Two Notts County – even though the much-maligned Jason Scotland has pulled it back to 2-1.

16:04: Molineux fumes as Wolves go behind again against Championship club Crystal Palace, the flying Darren Ambrose scoring for the Eagles after setting up the first goal.

16:03: League One Brighton’s second-half resistance against Villa lasts three minutes, Ashley Young putting the claret and blues back in front.

16:02: Bolton manager Owen Coyle has got something to cheer about against Sheffield United the Reebok Stadium, Gretar Steinsson has put the team on course for their first win under his command.

16:00: Second-half around the grounds across the country.

15:50: Half-time around the grounds across the country.

15:42: After going behind then suffering a pitch invasion from disgruntled fans, finally Portsmouth has something to cheer about – the long-forgotten John Utaka has got the equaliser against Sunderland at Fratton Park.

15:41: Villa are left stunned as League One Brighton scramble home a equaliser in the cup, Tommy Elphick with the final touch after a corner from former Wolves player Elliott Bennett.

15:41: The shock looks to be on for League Two Notts County as they go two goals up against Premier League Wigan, Ben Davies with the strike that has Meadow Lane in raptures.

15:40: Birmingham are flying now at Goodison Park and it’s that man Barry Ferguson at the hub of it again, after having a hand in the first goal the midfielder has now put Blues 2-0 ahead.

15:37: David Jones has picked a very good time to score his first goal of the season for Wolves, as the midfielder nets the equaliser in the FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace.

15:31: Albion are taking command against Newcastle in the cup as they go two goals ahead, Graham Dorrans’ stroking home a penalty after Tamas Kadar had hauled down Roman Bednar.

15:26: Notts County could be set to spring the shock of the day in the FA Cup as they take the lead against Premier League Wigan, former Albion star Lee Hughes with the goal.

15:25: Accrington Stanley are not going to make this cup tie easy for Fulham as they get the equaliser four minutes after going behind, striker Michael Symes with the goal that has the Crown Ground rocking.

15:21: Premier League Fulham have got their noses in front with the opening goal in the less than glamourous surroundings of League Two club Accrington Stanley, Erik Nevland with the goal.

15:17: Albion are ahead against their under-strength promotion rivals Newcastle at the Hawthorns in the cup, a completely unmarked Jonas Olsson with the header that gets the Baggies’ opener.

15:15: A bad day at troubled Portsmouth has just got worse as Sunderland striker Darren Bent gets the goal that puts the visitors ahead in the FA Cup at Fratton Park.

15:08: In the only Premier League game of the day, Manchester United are looking to go back to the top of the table and it’s looking good after Wayne Rooney’s opener against Hull at Old Trafford.

15:07: Birmingham just keep going and going as Blues get their noses in front at Everton in the cup, Barry Ferguson’s crossfield ball opening up space for Christian Benitez to open the scoring.

15:05: Villa don’t take long to make it a trying afternoon for League One visitors Brighton in the fourth round of the cup, young striker Nathan Delfouneso with the goal that has the Premier League side ahead.

15:03: Moans and groans at Molineux just three minutes into their FA Cup tie as Crystal Palace go head, Wolves left flat-footed by Alan Lee’s header from Darren Ambrose’s cross into the box.

15:00: Kick-off around the grounds across the country.

14:45: It’s FA Cup joy for Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and cup specialists Reading in the early kick-offs, as both book their places in the fifth round.

Chelsea never let second-tier outfit Preston into the game at Deepdale and ran out 2-0 winners, after goals from Nicolas Anelka and Daniel Sturridge.

Championship Reading left it late but saw off another Premier League side in Brian Laws’ Burnley, Brynjar Gunnarsson scoring the only goal of the game with just three minutes left.

14:30: A busy day for our clubs in the region today as four vie for a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup, with Wolves facing a potential banana skin with the visit of Championship club Crystal Palace.

The second-tier promotion chasers do battle for the second time in a week at the Hawthorns, as Albion and Newcastle look for a decisive result withr two draws failing to separate the teams so far this season.

You would think that Villa will make easy work of League One Brighton at home this afternoon, especially after booking their place in the Carling Cup final. But this is the cup, isn’t it?

Birmingham round off the quartet with a tricky all-Premier League tie against Everton at Goodison Park, but few will fancy playing Blues in the form they have been in.

Walsall are not in action until they play Norwich at the Banks’s Stadium on Tuesday night.

Mick’s Poker face is fooling everyone again! Even i thought he’d put a pretty much full strength team with Vokes up top.

Hopefully we can scrape through and have the best players rested for Liverpool.

Not sure why David Jones is the flavour of the month (where’s Castillo?) but he’s proved me wrong and scored.

We should see Geoffery in the second half! Let’s hope he’s decent.

Still need some strength in squad though!!!!

Not sure who it will be though?

Killgallon – said he wanted to stay, then signed for Sunderland.

Beckford – wants to stay at Leeds till summer.

Johnson – wants to stay at Middlesboro till summer.

Hunt – trail gone very cold.

Beattie – something should’ve heppened if it was going to.

O’Hara – name not mentioned at all for weeks now!

I think we still need a winger, striker and midfielder, but i don’t know who???

Season ticket holder but not been for a few weeks as I fell down the stairs the night before Christmas eve (not drunk) – broke my collar bone and did my back in. Have since turned 45 a week ago but after this performance so far I’ve dug out my Patrick Kevin Keegan boots smothered them in dubbin and popping down to Compton to see if I can get a game next week, reckon I still have as good a chance as this lot in finding the back of the onion bag.

Has Jez set up a half season ticket return scheme?

To top it all I work at Cadbury, but I reckon my job prospects are better than MM if this form continues.

I do agree to rotheram wolf I thought we should have but like most premiership players they have attitude and you know what that spells with Mcarthy.Disaster. To be honest after the result today this should be the time for morgan to say that this muppet is no good and with this sort of form will get us relegated.
