Parkin promises ‘instant impact’
Saturday 23rd January 2010, 12:42PM GMT.
Walsall striker Sam Parkin has vowed to make an instant impact if called upon during the frantic fixture list.
The Saddlers striker is desperate to take his chance after just seven starts and three goals this season.
But, with eight games in 26 days during February, the former Ipswich ace says he is ready to answer boss Chris Hutchings’ call to arms.
He said: “There are a lot of games coming up and hopefully it will be good for me as the manager will be more likely to look to change the team around and freshen things up.
“If I can get back in then hopefully I will be able to get a run of games under my belt.
“The enforced winter break has been frustrating for everyone. It’s not as if we’ve had the time off, we’ve been in every day working hard preparing for games and the disappointment has only come at the last minute with matches being postponed.
“It means that we’re going to have a busy February, but we are looking forward to it.”
