I am pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our move to the University of Wolverhampton Science Park.

I would like to send a big thank you to Nigel Babb and his team at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park for all their help in the move and for making it a smooth transition.

We have some key projects that we are working on to help us reach our aim of doubling the size of the Black Country economy by 2023.

One area we are keen to challenge is closing the gap between education and business. We are launching our Young Chamber programme with schools across the Black Country to ensure that every pupil in every school has the chance of getting high quality experience of work and understands the career options available to them.

We are also looking to expand our team to demonstrate our commitment to helping businesses who have the potential to achieve sustainable growth. We will do this through the implementation of two new strategic relationship managers who will help us to widen our reach and identify businesses who are ready to go through a growth journey. Our new team members will ensure that those businesses who are willing and ready, get the best support available and that any barriers they face are overcome.

A further key project we will be implementing in autumn will be a Leadership and Management Course for local businesses. We have recently completed a highly successful pilot and are scheduling new courses to run in September and October. We have cohorts starting 10 September, 17 September, 6 October and 27 October. Each course consists of 6 one day workshops run over a six month period with one hour of telephone coaching in between each workshop.

As we are now approaching the summer time, I wish you a restful summer and look forward to welcoming you to our Annual Exhibition and AGM on 18th September at Wolverhampton Racecourse.

If you have any questions or would like to contact the Chamber please call the team on 0330 024 0820.
