More than 650 people turned up for the morning and watched the first-team squad being put through their paces on the hallowed Molineux turf.

The players were put through their paces ahead of their derby day encounter with Birmingham City at St Andrews this weekend.

Fan favourites including Benik Afobe, Danny Batth, and Conor Coady stayed after the session to meet fans and sign autographs in the family enclosure of the Billy Wright Stand.

Wolves fan Richard Perkins, from Tettenhall Wood, editor of the Wolves fanzine, The Tatter, made the trip down with his friends and their children.

The 37-year-old said: "I go down the training down regularly. I think these sessions are great for the community, especially during half term because obviously its something for the kids to come out and get involved with."

Wolves midfielder Conor Coady said: "It's always a nice change to get out from the training ground and come and train here and it is nice for the kids to come out and see what we do on a daily basis.

"We all know how big Wolverhampton Wanderers is in this city and it's a big part of people's lives so to come and train and for them to see what we do is massive. We'd like to come and do it more often."

Striker Benik Afobe added: "I know most of my goals have been here at the stadium since the first game I've played here. The pitch is always fantastic as well and it's a pleasure to be here.

"Everyone knows how much I like the fans here. They've taken to me from day one. They have always been our 12th man and they're here showing their respect for us today."
