The incident took place at 11.50am this morning and crews from Brierley Hill Fire Station attended to make the scene safe.

It was not clear what caused the Volkswagen Polo driven by an elderly lady to crash said Mal Fellows, station commander.

No one was injured in the crash.

Mrs Deborah Shaw, aged 48, from Euphoria, said: "The car came flying through the window.

"Clients and staff were screaming and in shock.

"We're just glad no one was injured."

Jamie Arrowsmith, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "Quite how no one suffered any injuries in this incident is not far short of a miracle.

"The car came to rest almost completely in the hairdressers which had a number of people inside at the time.

"Thankfully, none of them were caught up in the incident.

"The driver of the car, an elderly woman, managed to free herself from the vehicle and following assessment from ambulance crews she was discharged at the scene.

"There are a number of shops nearby and everyone deserves credit for pulling together to look after those involved prior to the arrival of emergency services."
