The five mile run, which took place at Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton yesterday has been going for 38 years now, giving people a chance to make room for their Christmas dinner with one last burst of activity.

Some wore fancy dress while others chose to stick to the more traditional running gear.

John Brown, race organiser, said: "We are very pleased with the turnout this year, we had about 100 extra runners compared to last year."

The race was won by Ross Jones. Some of the best runners were given a turkey breast as a reward.
