It's all to do with the number three: Tettenhall's Make It or Bake It market

Tettenhall's Make It or Bake It market is making its third appearance on Sunday, May 24, with special performances by a 30-strong female barbershop choir, the Belles of the Three Spires.

The twice yearly event, on Tettenhall Upper Green, also features street food from three nations – with stallholders including Robinsons Deli who are providing French-inspired meals, Minh's restaurant with delicacies from China, and Indian starters from the nearby Masala Club.

Thirty hand-picked stallholders, mostly from Wolverhampton and the Black Country, will be selling everything from works of art, to artisan breads and cakes, homemade pies and crepes, to real ale, plus all kinds of locally designed hand-crafted items imaginable.

Market co-ordinator Colin Carr said: "It all started as a simple Tweet last year along the lines of 'does anyone fancy bringing the village green back to life on a Sunday?' and the idea of doing a market really took off from there.

"Local businesses supported and got behind the idea and it was an instant hit with traders and local people alike, with thousands attending the first two events, and hopefully in 2015 we can build on that popularity."

The Belles of the Three Spires who, along with Claregate girls activity group, have a charity stall at the market, are expected to draw the crowds and will be performing half hour sets mid-morning and mid-afternoon, with help throughout the day from a variety of local buskers.

Make It or Bake It market is operated jointly by Wolverhampton Council Market Services, its markets agency LSD Promotions and the local village website www.tettenhall.co.uk

The event, which runs from 10am–3pm, is part of Love Your Local Market week which aims to celebrate the UK's vibrant street and indoor markets across the UK.
