The local Wolverhampton based theatre company will be performing the show at the impressive Dormston Mill Theatre in Sedgley, from February 3 to 7.

It promises to deliver a great night out for theatre lovers, delivered by a professional and talented membership base from all over the city.

The strong cast, combined with a professional front-of-house team and experienced backstage crew, aims to ensure this will be one of the highlights of the year in local amateur theatre.

With not long to go, rehearsals are well under way and tickets for the six shows are selling out fast.

Phoenix had great success with their inaugural week long production of Oliver! which also took place in Sedgley. Playing to full houses most evenings, close to 2,000 people had the pleasure of seeing the production during the course of the week.

Feedback on the show was exceptional and audiences were extremely impressed with the high quality of the production, all the more impressive for a company in its first year.

This year's show, South Pacific, is full of unforgettable songs including There Is Nothin' Like a Dame, Bali Ha'i, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair, Happy Talk, and Hunny Bun.

Phoenix's marketing manager, Chris Parkes, said: "It is considered by most critics to be among the greatest musicals of the twentieth century. The original Broadway production won ten Tony Awards, including all four acting awards, and many of its songs went on to have a life of their own outside of the musical."
