West Bromwich Manor House vintage fair

There were lots of events through the summer for me to photograph, but now Autumn is here, there are fewer events and many are indoors. I went to West Bromwich Manor House on Sunday to photograph the vintage fair which was held both indoors and outdoors.

Inside was lots of stall selling vintage goods and crafts. The whole ground floor was devoted to the event.

This was the 'Maiden's Fayre' stall, very in keeping with the ambience of the event.

The Elvis Tribute act was very good and added to the period atmosphere of the event. If you're ever going to buy a gazebo, buy a white one! Green gives everything a green tinge in the photos! I did my best to get a good shot however.

There were stalls in the great hall too selling all manner of goods. There was also music, I think they called it a DVD disco. I bought a very nice knitted poppy.

This caravan looked great, but it was a very cloudy day and so the photo doesn't really do it justice. It added to the nostalgia of the whole event as did the collectible cars.

When I arrived there were more people in period costume, but they were leaving. That was a shame, I lost a photo opportunity! I think it was well worth a visit though and very popular, considering this was the second day.

You could even get a 'vintage cocktail'. I didn't try one, I needed to concentrate on the photography! This couple were hoping to be on the front page of the newspaper. You never know!

This lady was doing 'vintage' makeovers. It was a little bit crowded here and I struggled to change the batteries on my speed-light, so I didn't wait to see the finished makeover, but it looked really good.

The Manor House isn't open so much in winter, but through the summer they do guided tours. There is a Halloween event coming up soon though. Sandwell Valley Country Park is quite close and we often go to the Manor House on the way there. You can also check out the Mill Pool, which is just up the road.
