Battle of Britain

Every September we attend services to remember those who fought in the Battle of Britain in 1940, which was seen as pivotal to WWII.

Sunday 14 September will see the battle commemorated at the RAFA club on Goldthorn Road, Wolverhampton. The service takes place in the grounds of the club, where there is a lovely memorial to RAF personnel.

The event starts with a parade by local air cadets, trainees from RAF Cosford, and standards representing a number of ex-service organisations, including the local RAFA. This is followed by a short service and laying of wreaths by dignitaries, including the Mayor of Wolverhampton. Other wreaths are laid afterwards.

Anybody wishing to take part should muster at 11.30 am at the club. Standards muster at the rear of the Royal Wolverhampton School.

The club bar will be open for refreshments.
