The Padre who looks after the Wolverhampton United Ex-service Council and Royal British Legion is holding a special concert, along with Wolverhampton Orpheus Male Voice Choir, to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Hidden gems – Barlow Theatre


Mention the Barlow Theatre on Langley High Street to most people in the Black Country and you will get a blank stare, yet this lovely little repertory theatre has been going for over 75 years.

We recently had a lovely day out at RAF Cosford, looking round the museum. Whilst aircraft are not really something that would immediately attract me this place was very interesting and Mick (my other half) found it fascinating.

Battle of Britain


Every September we attend services to remember those who fought in the Battle of Britain in 1940, which was seen as pivotal to WWII.

Summer meetings

There is an agreement that the Wolverhampton United Ex-service Council (WUEC) and the Central branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) each take a month off from meeting during summer.

To many people remembrance consists only of the events that take place around November 11 every year - the date of the Armistice in World War One.
