Madeley on America: Has Trump dealt knock-out blow?

"I wouldn't vote for either of them."

So says the high priestess of punk Vivienne Westwood, who reckons Hillary is an evil war-monger.

She doesn't like Donald very much either, or Theresa May, but that's another story.

Now Viv can't actually vote in the US election as she's a Brit, and her judgement may not be the best considering she said that given the chance she'd vote for 'a green person'.

Environmental warrior, not alien, I assume. But her 'none of the above' line is one we are likely to hear with increasing regularity over the next few weeks, as America decides on which of the lesser of two evils to elect.

Many Americans have apparently been put off from taking part in their democratic right and duty by the nasty nature of the battle so far.

In a campaign featuring more leaks than the Titanic, Trump and Clinton have both excelled in the art of dishing the dirt.

They may be crap politicians, but when it comes to muckraking they are up their with the best of 'em.

I make it Trump currently leading by seven leaks to six, although the quality of the leaks must obviously be taken into consideration before a winner is declared.

And Hillary's camp has unleashed a barrage of doozies, leaving Trump facing a dizzying array of allegations that would have floored someone less thick-skinned and less thick.

Recently I somewhat mischievously suggested that Clinton and Trump should consider facing off in the boxing ring.

It could be that Trump's past discretions mean he has already dealt himself a knock-out blow without Hillary so much as raising a glove.
