The vehicle overturned after a one-car crash on yesterday evening on the M6.

It was travelling northbound between junction 14 for Stafford and junction 15 for Stoke.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all at the scene – the incident happened at just before 8pm.

The people inside the car were not trapped, but instead ‘pulled out’ of the car and taken to North Staffordshire Hospital.

Drivers faced heavy delays – all three lanes were shut – while Highways West Midlands dealt with the incident.

Motorists were urged to avoid the motorway – trapped traffic was released after one lane was reopened while the car was being recovered. Emergency crews were at the scene until about 9.40pm.
