Warning is issued over work on Willenhall road
Drivers using a busy commuter route are being warned to avoid it after gas mains work began.
moreTransport chiefs say the work on Pool Hayes Lane, Willenhall, will take around three weeks to complete.
Temporary traffic lights will operate from today while the project is being carried out by National Grid Gas and drivers are being warned to expect delays.
Willenhall councillor Ian Shires said people living nearby had been informed of the project near the junction with Lucknow Road and Castle Drive.
It is a popular commuter link between Short Heath and Wednesfield.
He added: "I would advise those people who do not need to be in the vicinity to find other routes."
