HS2 hit by second consultation delay

A consultation into the environmental impact of HS2 should be extended for the second time in a week, Lords have ruled.

moreIn another set back for the controversial high speed rail project, the House of Lords Standing Orders Committee said the deadline should be pushed back to February 27 after a total of 877 pages were missing from consultation documents.

MPs last week ordered the same consultation be extended until February 10.

The HS2 Hybrid Bill and adjoining environmental impact report equates to more than 50,000 pages with the public originally given just 56 days to respond.
