Commuters at Wolverhampton train station faced delays of half-an-hour today after signalling problems were reported.
Disruption meant some Virgin Train services were being diverted via Stafford and Birmingham New Street and were not calling in the city at all.
The issue also affected passengers using Arriva Trains, Cross Country and London Midland services.
Network Rail engineers were on site this morning trying to fix the problem which was discovered at a set of points near Wolverhampton.
Virgin Train customers were allowed to use their tickets on London Midland services to complete their journey.
