£160k safety work for Walsall accident spots
Three of the busiest routes through Walsall will get £160,000 safety improvements following a series of accidents.
Work will take place along the A461 Lichfield Road, Bloxwich Road and the main Broadway and Birmingham Road junction. There were a total of 39 accidents on the stretches in the last three years.
Improvements planned for Lichfield Road, from Daw End to Spring Cottage, include better signs, surfacing, parking bays and a pedestrian refuge.
The proposals to improve the right turn into Birmingham Road from the Broadway include better road markings.
In Bloxwich Road there are plans for better signs and pedestrian facilities.
