Facebook adds voice posts and stories archive feature

The features are being rolled out in India, with the rest of the world to follow.

Facebook has released three new features to its Indian users – voice posts, a stories archive and cloud storage.

The new features will begin in India before being rolled out to users across the world.

Voice Posts allow users to create and share an audio message with their friends on the Facebook Stories section.

The audio messages are accompanied by a colourful background and photo, and allow users to share messages without having to type them out.

The stories archive will let users retain their Facebook Stories, saving them privately after the temporary posts expire so they can be viewed by the user and re-shared later.

The archive feature is similar to that already existing on Instagram’s stories feature.

“Saving photos and videos can be used to save what you might want to post later,” Facebook’s director of Stories Connor Hayes told Tech Crunch. “So you don’t have to edit or post them while you’re out with your friends, and instead enjoy the moment at the concert and share them later.”
