Developers want to turn Construction House in Birch Street into 33 new homes.

A planning prior notification letter has now been submitted to Wolverhampton council, stating that proposals intend for the building to be converted to residential use. The proposal is for three flats per floor.

The letter adds: "The site lies within Wolverhampton city centre in a very sustainable location, close to local shops and services.

"It is also very close to public transport routes, and within easy walking distance of bus and rail services." Last year Carillion moved its HQ from the building in Birch Street to Carillion House, formerly Staffordshire House, in Salop Street.
