More than 750 new homes will be built in Sandwell. Five new developments will be built in West Bromwich, Smethwick, Wednesbury and Tipton.

Sandwell Council has awarded contracts to builders Kier Partnership Homes, Barratt Homes and Compendium Living to deliver the programme which comes in part thanks to a £10 million investment contribution from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Council leader Councillor Darren Cooper said: "This is a very welcome addition to the desperate housing situation in the borough. I am hoping that building work on the first houses in the Windmill Lane area will start in March next year."
