EU Referendum: George Osborne in Wolverhampton ahead of Brexit vote

George Osborne was in Wolverhampton as the EU Referendum campaigns entered their final stages.

The Chancellor met engineers at the UTC Aerospace Systems in Stafford Road, and said a vote to Remain in Europe would mean the West Midlands would be 'bigger, stronger, and safer'.

The American firm, which employs around 1,000 people in the city, manufactures components for the world's biggest aerospace firms including Airbus and Boeing and is backing British membership of the EU.

He later paid a visit to the Express & Star's Queen Street head office for a tour of the newsroom.
