Dfs and JD Sports have both taken on a 10-year lease to occupy the Gallagher Shopping Park in Wednesbury.

It comes as expansion work got under way late last year at the Sandwell retail park which will become home to a host of new shops and restaurants.

Diggers moved in to pave the way towards the arrival of top brands at the retail park, close to the junction of the M54 and M6.

The project includes the reconfiguration of existing retail units, along with the construction of new retail and food units and a car park refurbishment.

The £2.4m revamp started in August and is expected to take 34 weeks to complete.

The 200,000 sq ft retail park already has a number of high profile names such as Next, Outfit, Mamas and Papas, Boots, Furniture Village, TK Maxx, Burger King, Pizza Hut, SCS and Harveys.

James Bidwell, Quadrant Estates' partner, said: "Dfs and JD Sports are fantastic additions to Gallagher Shopping Park's line-up of leading leisure and retail brands.

Our plans to invest and revitalise the Park are coming to fruition. Works on the Park will be completed in early summer 2017, and a number of new tenants will open for business at the same time."

Dfs is taking a new lease on a 15,000 sq ft unit while JD will take over 7,000 sq ft unit.
