Shop worker injured in Stafford CostCutter knife raid

A teenage shop worker was cut on the arm during a knifepoint robbery in Stafford.

A witness appeal as been issued following the incident at CostCutter on Tedder Road on Sunday morning.

At around 10.40am a man entered the shop demanding cash whilst waving a knife at a member of staff.

After a scuffle the 19-year-old worker was cut on the arm although the injury was not serious.

The attacker left the shop empty-handed.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police are appealing for information following an incident at CostCutter on Tedder Road on Sunday.

"A male offender entered the shop at around 10.40am and threatened a member of staff with a knife, demanding cash from the till.

"A scuffle ensued and the 19-year-old male member of staff received a minor cut to his left arm. He did not require medical treatment.

"The offender fled the shop empty-handed. He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured puff-style jacket with the hood up, a scarf around his face and jeans.

"There were no customers in the shop at the time."
