Group of Indian men to be deported after being found sleeping rough in Wolverhampton

Indian men are to be deported after they were found sleeping rough in Blakenhall.

West Midlands Police originally found six men living rough.

While the status of five of the men has been decided upon the status of the sixth one has yet to be established.

Catherine Ellis, Home Office press officer, said: "Immigration Enforcement was contacted by West Midlands Police on August 14 after officers arrested Indians on suspicion of immigration offences.

"Immigration checks found that five of the men had overstayed their visas and action to remove them from the UK is under way.

"Work to establish the immigration status of the sixth man is continuing."
