Now BBC Midlands Today presenter Nick Owen has become the latest star to endorse the Express & Star's Great Big Thank You Awards.

Nick, aged 68, began presenting the well-known breakfast television programme in 1997, and has since become the recognisable face of the news for the West Midlands.

Speaking of his involvement in the Great Big Thank You Awards, at the BBC base in Birmingham city centre, Nick said: "On BBC Midlands Today we regularly feature people who have done something special.

"This campaign is about the same thing, looking for people who do wonderful things for the people who live around them. So if you know anyone to be nominated, get in touch with the Express & Star."
