Crime 'kingpin' mocked over rubbish rap lyrics

A scam artist and wannabe rapper who tricked pensioners into handing over their savings has had his desperate attempts at writing rap music mocked mercilessly online.

Fraudster Jahangir Khan, from Glendower Road, Perry Barr, was jailed for three years and two months on Friday after admitting two counts of conspiracy to defraud.

He was found to be part of a 'phishing' scam, in which he and his co-conspirators scared elderly people into handing over bank details after claiming their accounts had been compromised.

After the 23-year-old was jailed, West Midlands Police shared his lyrics online, alongside a tongue-in-cheek attempt by Detective Constable Dan Chappelow to translate the 'gangst' speak into the Queen's English.

In his rap, he claims to be 'da underground's finest', and boasts about driving a Lamborghini and getting 'bare honeys'.

Det Con Chappelow, who turned DC to MC, said: "You can't fault his imagination. Khan clearly saw himself as a respected kingpin of the criminal world… in his mind he was "da underground's finest" who drew respect from men and a magnet for adoring women.

"The truth is that Khan is a coward who spent his time phoning elderly people and tricking them into parting with bank cards and PIN numbers with scare stories that their accounts had been compromised.

"Courier fraud deliberately targets the most vulnerable people in society, people the fraudsters believe are more likely to fall for their lies. His crimes are a million miles away from the lifestyle depicted in his rap.

"We had a go at translating his street slang verses… at least we can thank MC Khan for giving us all a good laugh."

Khan's efforts were shared on the West Midlands Police Facebook page, with users branding him a 'tool' and a 'wannabe'. Lucy Reed said: "The more I read this, the more I chuckle and think what an utter tool this wannabe G is."

Among Khan's victims was a 92-year-old woman, who he tricked into handing over bank cards and PIN numbers, claiming her account had been hacked. Detectives arrested him after finding photos of him showing off designer watches, jewellery and clothes, paid for with cash stolen from victim's accounts.

Khan's co-conspirators were also sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to the same charges. Arafa Begum, 21, from Denby Close Nechells was sentenced to eight months suspended for 21 months and ordered to do 150 hours of community service. Mohammed Miah, 21, from London, was jailed for three years and three months, and fellow Londoner Motahir Rahman, 24, was sentenced to 10 months suspended for 21 months, and ordered to carry out 150 hour community service.

DC Chappelow's best efforts at translating!

My friends call me Jango and make no mistake I'm a real Crime Boss

I have a lot of cash and this attracts lots of ladies

I'm quite good at crime, the ladies like my expensive watches.

I drive at excessive speed in my rented hire car (an Audi) and passers-by admire the car – this also attracts the ladies for sex

I repeat, I am known as Jango – I may drive past you in my Lamborghini.

My friend, Kobir, and I have been through a lot – we've lost quite a few friends over our criminal activity but we find new friends

We don't buy cars, we spend a couple of hundred pounds on hire cars and it makes people jealous

Yes we make lots of phishing calls but don't be angry at us we're still cool

Our enemies call us fake, they used to be our friends but they're just jealous of our criminal success, they're not to be trusted
