National Express has revealed updated services for the region.

There will be changes to bus times and routes, with an increase in congestion cited as a major reason for the alterations, which come into effect from Sunday.

Many bus services along busy routes will only see minor changes to timetables, but some areas will see some services stop running all together.

National Express spokesman Ali Bell said: "National Express is the largest bus operator in the West Midlands. Periodically, we review the services we operate to make sure we are providing the best possible service for our customers.

"We did this latest service review for services in Walsall and Wolverhampton because travel patterns in the Black Country have changed and congestion has got much worse.

"We held a consultation to get as much feedback as possible before we decided on any changes."

Two services that will see the most changes are bus services between West Bromwich and Great Barr, and West Bromwich and Wolverhampton.

A section of the route for the number 46 bus between West Bromwich and Great Barr will stop running.

This will be the service that runs from the Scott Arms, in Great Barr, and Asda Queslett.

Operators say this is because of an insufficient number of people who ride the bus which cannot continue to 'support the commercial operation.'

For the bus services from West Bromwich to Wolverhampton, the number 79 bus, which runs through Wednesbury, Darlaston and Bilston, one section of the route will stop running and another will see twice as many buses running.

Operators say 'the route in Darlaston will be revised' - there will no longer be a service for bus stops in Wolverhampton Street and Stafford Road.

Instead all journeys operating between Dangerfield Lane and Darlaston will have a double run.

This will include stops in St Lawrence Way, Pinfold Street and Moxley Road.
