While decades past steam rail is celebrated at a heritage attraction in the Midlands.

This evocative picture called Steam on Fire was captured at Severn Valley Railway giving people a glimpse of a bygone age.

The attraction's Bridgnorth station is shrouded in shadows with just an orange haze lighting the platform.

A photographer, known as The Time Bandit, managed to catch the image at the station, off Hollybush Road.

Three volunteer staff members are shown in silhouette trackside with two locomotives standing at the platforms.

The 16-mile route leads from Bridgnorth through Shropshire to Bewdley and Kidderminster.

Daily services are running on the line over the New Year.
