Defender Kourtney Hause and winger Sheyi Ojo, on loan from Liverpool, took a break from training for a kick around with students from St Matthias School in Deans Road.

The players, who represent the England national team at U21 and U19 level, answered questions from pupils aged 11 to 16 before signing shirts and taking pictures.

The visit took place to promote the £5.5million youth facility The Way which is set to official open on January 16 next year. It will include state-of-the-art facilities including a music room and recording equipment, a 3G football pitch, enterprise media suite, climbing wall, multi-use four-court sports hall, cafe, dance studio, gym and cooking area. This will be available to city's young people aged between eight and 19 and also to people with disabilities aged up to 25.

Hause, aged 20, said The Way will be great for the young people of Wolverhampton.

"Myself growing up in London I used to go to something quite similar during the summer holidays, he said.

"If I didn't have that I would probably be playing 'knock, knock, ginger' on the streets and so having a facility like this will be a great benefit to the kids.

"I think the young people are fortunate to have such good facilities. Everyone can use them whether it might be to produce music if that's what they want to do or just to get good at a sport or play to stay healthy."

Meanwhile, Ojo, 18, added: "The facilities sound impressive to be honest. Throughout the past years the places young people have access to are becoming more equipped to help them which is really good."

There will be 20 activities available every night for youngsters, 365 days a year.

It will be open to young people who pay £5 a year in membership.
