'Our hearts have been broken': Tributes to man who died after Stafford street 'attack'

The family of a man who died after being found on a street with head injuries has paid tribute to him, saying he made their lives complete.

Carl Tindall, 35, of Brocton, was found in Cull Avenue, Stafford last Sunday before he died at Royal Stoke Hospital on Monday evening.

Staffordshire Police released a statement from the family. It said: "Carl made our family complete.

"He was our world and we have been left with a huge void in our lives.

"He was a wonderful loving son, brother and uncle who brought great happiness and joy to all his family.

"He had an unique personality and character and made life full of laughter - and that's why he will be sadly missed by so many.

"We are deeply moved by the hundreds of tributes from all the people Carl came into contact with and we take take comfort in knowing how many hearts he touched.

"No words can describe our devastating loss. Our hearts have been broken that he has been taken from us so soon.

"Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts."

Jamie Sleigh, aged 35, from St Johns Road, Cannock, appeared in court on Friday charged with the manslaughter of Mr Tindall.

Sleigh indicated a not guilty plea and was refused bail by magistrates at Cannock.

He will next appear before Stafford Crown Court on Friday.

Sleigh was the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the attack.

Three people already arrested in connection with the incident remain on bail.

They are a 32-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man from Stafford, and a 35-year-old woman from Cannock.
