The game, which was held at Pelsall Villa yesterday, kicked off after a minute's silence as saw the Walsall FC Legends team take on The Neil Baldwin Football Club.

The match was organised through the Walsall Supporters Trust.

It was organised in honour of Joel Richards, aged 19, of Wednesbury, his uncle and Sandwell Council worker Adrian Evans, 49, of Bilston and grandfather Patrick Evans, 78, of Wednesbury.

The Walsall Legends team won the match 6-3 with goalscorers including Tony Millard and David Moli.

Former players including Mark Taylor and Andy Reece also joined the team, while Walsall FC player Amadou Bakayoko was also in the stands enjoying the match.

Joel's mother Suzanne who was at the match with her son Owen, a survivor of the attack, said: "Joel was all about football, he absolutely loved refereeing, it was his dream job. We just think it's lovely that people are doing this for them, people are so kind."

Steve Davies, secretary of the Walsall Supporters Trust, said: "The legends are great, they turn up every time I organise a game and give their time for nothing.

"I appreciate the fact that people turned out."

Neil Baldwin rose to national fame following the broadcast of the BBC's BAFTA Award winning programme 'Marvellous' in September 2014, which charted his rise from Circus Clown to Stoke City kitman.

He said: "I think it is a great privilege to get a team out today because it is so sad what happened."

Joel, his uncle and grandfather were killed in Sousse when the attack took place on June 26.

Money raised from yesterday's event, which also included a raffle, will go towards the fund set up in memory of Joel.

Last month, friends of Joel to the field for a football match in his memory. More than 200 people gathered to watch on the sidelines.

Old classmates and friends who had played in sports teams with Joel over the years took part in the match on July 19.
