The news comes as his children urged Indian authorities to do more to find the 54-year-old, who has been missing since May 7.

In northern India, Phagwara is more than 60 miles away from Amritsar Airport in Punjab, which is where Mr Power arrived for a last-minute business trip.

On the 'Help Find Ranjit Singh Power' Facebook Group, Mr Power's daughter Emma said: "We need to urge them (Indian police) to do more and more to search for and protect my father and the many other British nationals that travel to the Punjab each year."

"More can be done and we need all the help we can get especially those who are near Punjab. We cannot delay anymore."

Mr Power owns the Ramada Park Hall Hotel in Goldthorn Park.

Earlier this month, his family spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about their ordeal.
