Memorial service for community figure found dead in Wolverhampton canal

A memorial service will be held to honour a much-loved pillar of the community who was found dead in a Wolverhampton canal.

Milton Marshall, aged 60, of Crofters Walk, Pendeford, was found in the canal near to Aldersley Bridge on April 14.

The father-of-three moved to the city from east London 15 years ago and became a highly respected figure around the Pendeford and Park Village areas.

His death is not being treated as suspicious by police.

A memorial service will take place at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Ryefield, Pendeford, on May 31 at 2pm.

Mr Marshall's funeral is due to be held in Hackney on May 27.
