They have not heard from their 54-year-old father, the owner of the city's Grade II-listed Ramada Park Hall Hotel, since he left the UK to go to India on a business trip on May 7.

Fears for Mr Power's safety have been growing by the day, with concerns he may have been kidnapped or killed, and the family has offered up the five-figure reward.

Initially offering £10,000 for information leading to their father's return, his daughter Emma Power, aged 26, said they have now raised that to £25,000.

She said: "Obviously we just want our dad back. Just anything that can help that really, we're helpless."

Miss Power said this weekend they had been giving lengthy statements to Wolverhampton police of anything that may help the investigation.

Indian media are reporting that Punjab Police are planning to seek the assistance of Interpol, hoping to locate a man they reportedly want to speak to in relation to kidnapping Mr Power.

However, Miss Power said they have not had any updates like this on the investigation from English police.

While they had seen the media reports, which suggested Indian police had questioned a few people in relation to her father's disappearance, Miss Power said they did 'not know how accurate it actually is'.

"Obviously we have raised the reward to £25,000 for the safe return of our father. But from the English police's point of view we don't have any more information."

Her father would normally contact England two or three times a day, but they had not heard from him at all since he called his partner Angela Bir on May 7 when he landed in Amritsar.

Ms Bir said he sounded fine when she spoke to him and he was 'totally happy'.

She was now very concerned about him, and said they just want to know what has happened.

Tettenhall-raised Mr Power and partners bought the Ramada Park Hall Hotel out of administration four years ago from its previous owners.

He previously owned the Connaught Hotel on Tettenhall Road before selling it in 2004.

Mr Power has been placed on West Midland Police's Missing Persons list, and the Foreign Office are working closely with the family.

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Mr Power should contact police on 101.
