Paediatric services will move to Royal Stoke University Hospital on Monday and Stafford hospital campaigners are asking families to gather from 6pm, to mark the closure of the Shugborough Ward and to thank the staff.

A new 28-bed ward will be available at Cheetham's Children's Centre in Stoke, while a new children's Emergency Centre will open at County Hospital.

It will be open between the hours of 8am and 10pm.

Support Stafford Hospital campaigner Cheryl Porter said it is a 'sad day for Stafford' and she vowed that the group will continue to campaign for a full range of hospital services to be returned to Stafford in the future.
