Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Wolverhampton crash

[gallery]A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash with a car in Wolverhampton.

Spring Road, Lanesfield, was closed between Birmingham New Road and Lanesfield Drive after a collision between a motorbike and a car.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Chris Kowalik said they were called to the crash, outside a fish and chip shop, just after 2.20pm.

A male motorbike rider, believed to be in his 20s, suffered a seizure and had bruising to his chest.

He was taken by Midlands Air Ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance crew were also called to the scene.
