CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Woman suffers fractured jaw as she tries to break up street brawl

This CCTV footage shows a woman being hit and suffering a fractured jaw as she tried to break up a fight between a group of men in a Walsall street.

The 20-year-old woman needed a metal plate inserted into her jaw after she intervened in the brawl in Hatherton Road.

She was punched from behind in the face by one of the man, which resulted in her suffering two fractures to her jaw. She was taken to hospital where she was treated, which included having two metal plates inserted into her jaw.

Police have released the video in a bid to trace the men who were involved on March 27.

Detective Constable Sukhdev Singh from Walsall's violent crime team, said: "This was a nasty and unprovoked attack on a young women on a night out, who was trying to stop a fight between a group of men. I am anxious to trace the five men captured on CCTV walking away following the assault and if anyone recognises them, they should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

The man who hit the girl, is described as white, aged 20-30, with dark hair and wearing dark coloured clothing.
