A well-known former nightclub in Wolverhampton will be converted into apartments under new plans.

Legends Nightclub, in Oxley Street, will be transformed into 34 flats in the bid by NB Building Design Services Birmingham.

The club has been closed for several years.

Councillor Zahid Shah, who represents St Peters ward, said: "I think it is a good move idea to turn a nightclub that hasn't been used for years into apartments, it will bring more people into the city centre, help out businesses in the area and of course give people somewhere to live.

"I would like to think that this could be the start of a boost for the St Peters ward, we need more quality living space and I think if this is backed up with some business investment for the area, we could be looking at some very positive changes in the near future."

Eighteen car park spaces will also be provided.

A decision on the plan will be made in the coming weeks.
