Environmental health officers shut Roti Junction, in Caldmore Road, Walsall using emergency powers because of concerns that it was a health risk to customers.

During an inspection officers said they found mouse and rat droppings in the kitchen and there was also an open drain in the floor.

Work surfaces and equipment were said to be dirty while building work was taking place in the kitchen close to where food was being prepared and stored.

The business must remain closed until environmental health officers are satisfied all the issues raised have been addressed and it no longer poses a health risk.

Councillor Khizar Hussain, portfolio holder for community, leisure and culture, said: "It is concerning to hear that this is the second time in seven months environmental health officers have had to take action against this business.

"Once again I cannot stress enough that the safety of the public is paramount and my officers will take prompt action against any business which we believe poses a health risk."

Previously the shop was temporarily closed in April due to rat and mouse droppings being found.
