A number of stolen football kits have been returned to Wolves' club shop after a woman admitted trying to sell them online.

The Wolves junior replica kits were spotted up for sale at half the retail price on Facebook.

Police managed to identify Sarah Bright, an administration assistant from Wordsworth Road, The Scotlands, from the online post.

When they visited her home in June they found a large amount of stolen clothing, including the stolen Wolves kits.

The 33-year-old appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on September 7 where she admitted to handling stolen goods.

She was fined £375 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 as well as compensation to Wolves.

Chris Round, from Wolverhampton stolen goods team, said: "This is a timely reminder to people that handling stolen property is a criminal offence and we will not tolerate such activity in Wolverhampton.

"We have trained officers who can evidentially review the internet for such activity and who are actively looking to catch offenders and trace stolen property."

The recovered stolen kits were returned to Wolves' megastore, in tact, ready to be returned for sale.

Spokesman for Wolves Matt Grayson said: "We would like to thank West Midlands Police for their assistance in this matter."
