Man accused of Wolverhampton attempted murder

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

Craig Birch, aged 31, is accused of attempting to kill Ian Christopher Ramsey in the early hours of June 7.

Mr Ramsey suffered a single stab wound to his chest outside the Harp Inn in Walsall Street, Horseley Fields, Wolverhampton.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday, Birch denied attempted murder. He also entered a not guilty plea to a charge of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a knife.

Birch, of Inkerman Street, Heath Town, Wolverhampton, was remanded in custody to appear at the same court for a trial on December 1.
