It's not every day Justin Bieber tells you he likes the sound of your voice but that is exactly what happened to Brandon Duffus.

The 16-year-old rapper of Dau End Lane in Rushall, Walsall, met the superstar at the BET Awards in Los Angeles.

His father Mark Anthony is a record producer and has worked with artists including American singer Joyce Sims and Glen Goldsmith.

When he attended the BET Awards in Los Angeles he took Brandon along with him to rub shoulders with the stars.

The Aldridge High School pupil said: "I have wanted to be a rapper since I was really young after seeing my father working in his studio.

"It was really great to attend the awards ceremony and I made a lot of contacts.

"Justin Bieber spoke to me and gave me some advice and told me to just be myself.

"He said he liked my style and he had listened to one of my tracks which he enjoyed.

"It's a huge compliment to be told that by someone who is so big in the industry and one day I would love to have his success."

Brandon is signed to his father's label, Digital Jukebox Records, and he is currently recording his first single which he hopes to release later this year.

He said: "The song is great but I am keeping it under wraps for now.

Brandon has performed at the Wireless Festival

"My music has kept my mind off my GCSE results which I will receive next week.

"I want to do A-Levels in business, ICT and media studies in September because I think those subjects will help me with my music career."

Last month Brandon performed at the Wireless Festival at Perry Park in Birmingham and in December he will represent Walsall in the Star Youth Talent dance competition against dance competitors around the region.

His father Mark said: "Brandon is just incredible and he has got a great sound and style.

"Watch this space."
