Nathan Farrell, who delivers the post in Great Wyrley and Cheslyn Hay, is hoping his latest track, entitled Keep Your Dreams Alive, could be his breakthrough moment.

The 28-year-old from Bloxwich is signed with the Downtown Artists label and launched his first single The Closer You Come last year.

He said: "My new single is more of a pop type of song while the first was more of a ballad.

"I signed with the record label back in 2012 but because I work six days a week it has taken some time to get the recordings finished because of studio time.

The Express & Star first caught up with Nathan in 2012. Here's our video report from the time:

"I personally think it is a better song than the first one. I have worked really hard and it is all about keeping going and never giving up hope and that you can achieve your dreams.

"I'm hoping this song will do really well."

It's quite a depature from his day job as a postie

Father-of-two Mr Farrell has dedicated the latest single in memory of his cousin Alan Webster, 47, who recently passed away.

He said: "He was such an important and much-loved family member that it has been very difficult for us."

The postie also hopes to be appearing on TV screens very soon after an audition for BBC's The Voice.

He took part in pre-auditions in Birmingham and is waiting to hear whether he has made it through to the TV stages.

He said: "I made it through two rounds in Birmingham so now it is a case of waiting to hear from producers. To sing on TV would be an absolute dream and I am relishing the opportunity - it would be my biggest achievement to date."

Mr Farrell is appearing at Pelsall Music Festival on Saturday (July 26) where he will perform live.

His singles are available for download on iTunes and Amazon.
